who we are

The Peradeniya Medical School Alumni Association Australasia (PeMSAA Australasia) was established in 2008 to bring together graduates of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, who are now residing in Australia and New Zealand. As a vital part of the global PeMSAA network, our mission is to foster a sense of community among alumni, celebrate our shared heritage, and leverage our collective expertise to create meaningful impacts in healthcare and beyond.

Our roots trace back to the globally renowned Faculty of Medicine at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, which has produced generations of exceptional medical professionals since its founding in 1962. PeMSAA Australasia proudly upholds this legacy, creating opportunities for alumni in the region to connect, collaborate, and contribute to causes that matter.

Through our network, we aim to bridge the gap between alumni, their alma mater, and the broader medical community. We organize events, workshops, and initiatives that promote professional development, community engagement, and lifelong learning. Beyond professional networking, PeMSAA Australasia is deeply committed to philanthropy, supporting scholarships, research funding, and healthcare advancements both locally and in Sri Lanka.

Whether you’re a recent graduate or an experienced professional, PeMSAA Australasia is your platform to reconnect with old friends, expand your professional horizons, and contribute to a thriving community of like-minded individuals passionate about making a difference. Join us as we honor our past, strengthen our present, and shape a brighter future for healthcare in Australasia and beyond.
